Nearby Cities and Attractions
Out here in Jonesville, it’s easy to slow down with some river time, Greenway walks, and quiet nights back at camp. But if you wake up itching to go see something new, you’ve got plenty close by to explore! Our Hometown crew loves this corner of North Carolina, and our onsite team will be happy to play local guide. We can point you in the direction of some of our favorite local day trips, good eats, scenic drives, and the spots folks usually miss. Take a look at some of our top nearby ideas, and then come ask us for more when you get here!

Mt Airy, NC
Mt. Airy is Andy Griffith’s hometown, and the town has leaned into its Mayberry connection. Most of what visitors come for is packed into the downtown stretch, so you can park near Main Street and easily spend the afternoon on foot exploring museum stops, grabbing lunch, taking photos, and even participating in a downtown tour.

Charlotte, NC
Charlotte makes a fun day trip because you can experience a good mix of a little bit of everything. Uptown is where you’ll find the big skyline, museums, and stadiums (game days bring the crowds), plus plenty of spots to grab lunch. A few minutes out, neighborhoods like NoDa and South End are packed with murals, local shops, and patios. If you’ve got kids along, there are plenty of hands-on attractions too, so it works for families as much as couples.

Boone, NC
Boone is a High Country favorite with a true mountain-town feel and plenty packed into a small, walkable downtown. King Street is the main drag for local shops, good food, and Appalachian State culture. When you want a view, Howard Knob sits right above town, and if the weather turns, the Turchin Center is a great indoor stop for rotating art exhibits. It’s a fantastic pick for a day trip that mixes scenery, local flavor, and a little college-town fun.
