RV Park Near Boone, NC

Boone is quintessential mountain-town North Carolina with cool, crisp air, college-town character, and plenty to do right off King Street. You can grab a bite and catch a game, duck into a gallery, then drive up for a view that reminds you why folks love the High Country. It’s a great day trip when you want good food, local culture, and a little scenery in one go.

Boone Saloon

If you want a true Boone hangout, Boone Saloon is it, right on King Street. The first thing you’ll notice is the 25-foot white oak, live-edge bar (it’s kind of their pride and joy), plus plenty of TVs if your crew likes to keep up with the game. They’re known for Taco Tuesday, they host live music a couple nights a week, and they’re family-friendly until 10pm before it shifts to 21+. It’s also a big soccer spot in town, so don’t be surprised if there’s a match on.

Rocky Knob Mountain Bike Park

Rocky Knob Mountain Bike Park is another great Boone outing! The park covers about 185 acres of wooded terrain with purpose-built mountain bike trails that range from steady climbs to more technical sections, plus a few spots that open up to scenic views. It’s also easy to bring the whole crew, with picnic tables, public restrooms, and a playground for kids (swings and slides). Dogs are allowed, and there’s wheelchair-accessible parking and an accessible entrance.

Turchin Center for the Visual Arts

Located in the heart of downtown Boone on West King Street, the Turchin Center is a really great indoor activity to tack on to your itinerary. It’s part of Appalachian State University, with six galleries that rotate exhibits, so there’s usually something new on the walls for you to experience. Best part: admission is free, so you can pop in on a whim while you’re already walking around downtown. Find it at 423 W. King St., with the main entrance right off the King Street plaza.

After your Boone day, head back toward Jonesville and park it at Hometown RV Park. We have short-term and long-term site options, plus the creature comforts you’d expect including full hookups, WiFi, laundry, private bathrooms, a camp store, and room for kids and dogs to play. Our onsite crew is there if you need anything during your stay and we’re more than happy to point you in the direction of more of our local favorites.
